My Adsense Account shows a lot of Page Impressions, but Zero Estimated Earnings

Are you a new member of AdSense? Are you lost yet? yeah I hear ya I was to. But I came across this listing that really helped me understand more. I could not figure out why I was doing so much hard work and still seeing no earnings well this is why. Read on......

Ok you have been thinking about writing for sites like Hubpages and Infobarrel but you just don’t understand whyGoogle isn’t paying you for all your hard work. Is it becausepeople are not visiting your site or reading your articles? You have used Google analytics to get the information about you site. You can see that people are actually visiting but you are not seeing the rewards. You need to understand how Google sees page impressions to understand why you are not receiving any earnings. Maybe Google is actually paying you but you are just not seeing it. What is the point of an invisible money? Good question. You need to understand a few things to see how Google pays for page impressions using Adsense.
In the articles, what you are really interested in is the eCPM. Effective cost-per-thousand impressions (eCPM).
Google says “Essentially, effective CPM represents your estimated earnings for every 1000 impressions you receive.” If you were to read that you would be thinking great that means with every 1000 page impressions I will be earning loads of money. Wrong, Read further!
Google also says, “Effective CPM doesn't represent how much you have actually earned”. That is the most important part of the terminology. Google is basically saying you might or you might not earn anything.
Here is why you might not earn. Not all Ads that are served to your site have paid “page impressions” There are ads that are only worth money when someone clicks on them. If you get thousands of “page impressions” with no paid per view ads, you get zero dollars.
You might have seen that the eCPM at times shows about 0.20 cents with 7 page impressions but the estimated earnings still says zero. Why?
You have actually earned money through page impressions but it is just so small that it doesn’t appear. That is to say it is below .01 cent. How does Google work that out? Here is an example taking the figures we mentioned above.
0.20 cents divided by 1000 = 0.0002
0.0002 multiply by 7 (page impressions) = 0.0014
0.0014 is well below what could be shown on your estimated earnings.
Basically for your page impressions to start showing real numbers the eCPM should be higher.
How can you ensure that your eCPMs are higher? You cannot, because Google determines the mystery behind ads served to your site. So what can you do to earn more? You need to write relevant articles and not be content with just 10 or twenty. You also need to think strategically about the way you want to achieve your goal. It is not all about writing a lot. You need to also know what people want and what they are searching for.
There is a bit of luck to earning through Adsense. You just need to keep trying and get inspired by success stories that are published on Infobarrel. At times it might seem that you are not getting anywhere, which is normal when you are starting out. You will soon figure out how things work and then the earnings will start to trickle in.
